artichokes pie
This recipe (from Syracuse) was surely imported from western Sicily, birthplace of Saint Bernard, who is concerned in the matter.
Cut off the stalk from the artichokes and pull off the leaves. Boil in salted and acidulous water, drain and split them in half. Spread a little Saint Bernard sauce between the two pieces and put them together again. Place on a serving dish and serve at evening.
