Very fine kind of fish and can be also very big (sometimes more than a metre). Its back is blue with a yellow stripe from head to tail. A proverb says the best part to eat is its head, while the best part of a pike is its tail: cuda d'alùzzi and testa d'ariccióla. In dialect it is called also with other names such as fétula 'mpiriali, aliccióla, cavàgnula.
